Radford and partner Meagan Duhamel skated their last two competitive performances last week on a quest for the Olympic podium landing third behind gold medalists Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot of Germany and Sui Wenjing and Han Cong in the final segment of the competition. “We couldn’t have asked for more from this competition and from ourselves. We’re going to be able to retire and always look back on our skating career feeling complete and happy,” said Radford after the event. More than 40 fans gathered at the Red Lake Legion last Wednesday to watch the final performance, erupting in cheers as the marks for Olympic Athlete from Russian Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov appeared, placing them in fourth place and securing the Canadian team’s bronze medal. This is the first Olympic medal the team has earned in the individual events, having won a gold medal in the team event and a silver medal in Sochi.
