Twenty-four Red Lake Mitey Mites players returned home this past Sunday with a smile on their faces and a memory to last a lifetime. The Red Lake Tim Bits were in Winnipeg on Saturday, Mar. 4 and started their day out at the Jet’s practice facility the MTS Iceplex participating in the Tim Horton’s Jamboree. The team then moved on to the MTS Centre later in the evening where they took to the ice to play a scrimmage game in front of more than 14,000 Jets fans. Players got geared up at the facility and had a visit from Mick E Moose the Jets/Moose mascot.
Coaches Mat Howie, Bryan Boshold, Joel Marion and Guy Marion offered thanks this week to those who assisted the team’s effort including Ron and Donna Parks (Tim Hortons), Winnipeg Jets, Terry Bursey (Goldcorp) Don Aiken (Red Lake Marine) Municipality of Red Lake, Red Lake District Minor Hockey Association, the parents and community for supporting the team.
