Summer Fun Nights for Youth
Submitted by Kathy Tetlock
Summer is a time for students to relax and have fun, as well as the rest of us! Older students have summer jobs and are working hard to save money for schools of the future. Younger students are enrolled in summer camps and vacationing with family. This summer, the Life Savers committee has been holding Youth fun nights to help keep students busy and having fun. It is a social evening for everyone to get together and play some games, visit and listen to music. This is part of the Dare to Dream funding that we received. Fun nights during the summer are for kids from grades 6 to 8 and there are only two more scheduled fun nights left: July 27th and August 10th!
On July 27th, we will be crafting and painting and playing games. It starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. and will be held at the United Church, downstairs. Promoting healthy living for our youth is the goal of the Life Savers committee (Red Lake Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force). If you would like more information on these events or other upcoming events by the Life Savers, please call Kathy @ 727-2820.
