Local volunteer firefighters had their work cut out for them on January 16, 2012, as they battled to put out a house fire on Howey Bay Road in Red Lake. Leaving a massive wake of destruction in its path, the blaze engulfed the two-storey structure and required hours of attention before it was declared officially out by Municipal Fire Chief Walter Scarrow.
