Erika Graham competes in the 200m Individual Medley heat. The Red Lake Goldfins took a contingent of swimmers to the Dryden Dolphins Swim Club’s annual SPLASH 2017 invitational, Feb. 25-26, for a weekend of competition against regional swim clubs like the Thunder Bay Bolts, Kenora Sharks, Fort Frances Cyclones and of course the host team Dryden Dolphins.
The Red Lake Goldfins sent 21 swimmers to compete against the region’s best which is the largest that has competed in recent years said Danielle LeBlanc on Mar. 6.
“For some of these swimmers it was the first time they have travelled to a full meet. All swimmers brought back personal best times and all swimmers placed well. For the first time in a long time, we were able to send 4 relay teams, which brought back three silvers and a gold. After recent results in Dryden, we have four swimmers who have now qualified to compete at the Golden Plains Invitational meet in Winnipeg in April.”
