Red Lake Area Emergency Shelter Manager Sandy Middleton accepts food collected by the Red Lake Library’s Food for Fines program. Throughout December, the Red Lake Library accepted food and clothing items to pay for overdue material fines. Library Assistant Sherry Boland says canned goods, noodle items, cereals, coffee and rice were some of the items collected and a full box of meat, potatoes and vegetables were purchased. Two boxes of jackets, hats, mittens and clothing were also donated. “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the program this year,” said Boland.
